Close enough for government work

February 20, 2013

Last Sunday I got a phone alert that my son could have his two DCAS tests anytime up until the end of the month. Seriously? How am I supposed to know which day I have to give him breakfast? 🙂

If I’m not mistaken these are the notorious tests covering stuff that hasn’t been taught yet.

how can we show growth unless we make your student feel like a failure first.

    It’s really simple.

I wouldn’t go that far John. I think this is the same old story about parent communication not being taken seriously, which happens everywhere and not just for testing.

Now that DCAS is computer-based, there is tremendous conflict for computer resources in the schools, with all sorts of activities disrupted, libraries shut down, classes moved, etc. Not even the schools can keep track of it anymore.

It is too difficult to narrow it down to a day. It turns out scheduling is HARD and stuff. Meanwhile they are raising money for $20,000 laptop carts and $50,000 computer labs, or waiting to order the next generation of iBauble.
